The only thing I hate more than a full sink is a dirty dish washing sink full of dirty dishes. So "Don't Wash Up the Ham, Egg & Cheese Bread Bowl" this post is dedicated to everyone who hates washing dishes as much as I do!
In my next life, I hope to be reborn with slender hands and long fingers, elegant rather than moderate, midget hand. My friends call me "baby hand". Truly! I do everything I can to avoid "hand shots", but sometimes this just has to be done.
Enough of me baby hands, let's put the focus back on food. If I write this post like my other post, it will go for pages like I am fanfare and on about why I don't think this Wash Up Ham, egg & cheese bread bowl is very good. So I will do both we support and only list pros and cons!
Material
- 4 loaves (soft or crusty)
- 4 small slices of ham, or 2 large slices
- 4 eggs, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon of fresh, finely chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven 180C / 350F.
- Cut the top from rolls.
- Scoop out the center and backup (see notes for ideas to use). To be neat, use a small knife to cut the round line before scooping out the center.
- Bread bowl line with HAM layer. Try to use one whole section if you can because then there is little chance for the eggs to seep through and become absorbed by the bread.
- Egg cracks.
- Top each with 2 tablespoons of mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with parsley (optional).
- Put the top back on each roll. Wrap with foil and place in the oven to bake ~ 15 to 25 minutes. Peek in 20 minutes to check them out. 20 minutes = runny yellow. 25 minutes + = yellow which is only cooked. (See notes for more information)
- Remove from the oven, open and serve immediately.
