Amazingly soft fettuccine that tastes like chicken pot pie in the form of pasta! Made in one pan and ready for the dining table in just 35 minutes.
There just isn't enough fun in all languages to describe the true madness of what we did for chicken pot pie today in the space of just one pan.
Material
- 1 lb diced chicken breast to 1/2 in the cube
- 1 medium finely diced onion
- 2 medium-sized carrots thick 1/4-in cubes
- 2 celery sticks, cut into small cubes
- 3 chopped garlic cloves
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1/3 cup of white whole wheat flour
- 3 cups of milk
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley
- 1 lb. dry fettuccine pasta
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a Dutch oven or large pan, sauteed chicken, onions, carrots, celery and garlic in medium-high olive oil until the vegetables are tender and the chicken is not pink. Stir in the flour until smooth, then slowly stir in the milk, chicken broth and parsley. Add dried fettuccine and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring to combine the paste under the liquid.
- Reduce the heat to medium and keep the pasta boiling, stirring occasionally until the sauce starts to thicken and the paste is soft and creamy, about 25 minutes.
- Remove paste from heat and season with salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy immediately!
